County FA Club Festival a Success

The Kent County FA celebrated the success of some of the counties most progressive clubs this weekend as Kicks Soccer Centre hosted the County FA annual FA Charter Standard Club Festival.

The invitation only 5-a-side pre season event witnessed teams from all over the county compete at Under 11’s, Under 12 Girls, Under 13’s and Under 15’s from FA Charter Standard Clubs.

The festival was carried out in a tournament format with a group stage followed by semi finals and a final with the winners and runners up both receiving trophies and Umbro Equipment & Kit vouchers.

The winners and Runner Ups were:

Under 11
Winners: Barming Youth
Runner Up: Thanet Colts

Under 12 Girls
Winners: Bearsted Youth
Runner Up: Gravesham Girls

Under 13
Winners: Sheerness East Youth
Runner Up: Guru Nanak Youth

Under 15
Winners: Bearsted Youth
Runner Up: Thanet Colts

Football Development Officer, Lee Suter praised participates by saying “The festival is seen as great way to start the season with all the players displaying a competitive but fair approach which is a credit to the clubs and the FA Charter Standard Award”.

The event is are one of many benefits that the County FA offers to new and existing FA Charter Standard Clubs with clubs receiving Umbro vouchers, an FA Charter Standard plaque, the use of The FA Crest/logo and continued coaching support.

Suter went onto say “I witnessed some great play and goals today and on behalf of the County FA I would like to thank Kicks Soccer Centre, the Match Officials and Umbro for ensuring the day was a great success”.
