The workshop was utilised;
- To educate football coaches of the benefits from good nutrition and hydration
- To provide ideas for the coaches to educate the players on the essential food groups
- To aid and benefit the performance and well being of active football players
Chris Wilson stated “It was great to deliver the Football Fuel presentation that I have designed to the members of the Kent FA Coaches Association. I think it is vital that coaches can disseminate the benefits and values of good nutrition and hydration to their young players. However, the challenge we face is making this fun and enjoyable so that children can learn”.
Once the theory was completed Paul Dolan, Kent FA Football Development Officer, delivered an FA presentation on being ‘Fit for Football’ which included lots of fun games and exercises which coaches can utilise to encourage healthy eating within their schools and clubs.
The workshop attracted twenty five Kent FA Coaches Association members.
The Kent FA Coaches Association currently has 120 members and continues to grow as more and more coaches gain their FA coaching qualifications. It is the aim of the Kent County FA Football Development Team to raise standards of football at all levels within the county.
Membership of the association is £10 per year which includes a comprehensive benefits package
