Kent recognises unsung heroes

The Kent County Football Development team welcomed footballs unsung heroes to the Kent Annual Volunteer Awards Evening at The Roffen Club, Rochester on 11 September 2007.

The evening recognises the Kent Football Workforce who work tirelessly to ensure that the excellent reputation that the county has at grassroots level is maintained.

A packed Roffen Club which included Kent County FA Chairman - Barry Bright, Former Gillingham Player and manager - Andy Hessenthaler and FA Regional Development Team Manager - Dylan Evans witnessed clubs, schools, club officials and representatives receive awards for outstanding contributions throughout the season.

County Development Manager Paul Dolan said “Football is about far more than the players on the pitch and The Kent County FA is committed to supporting volunteers in local football. This is always a very special evening and it is pleasing to see so many great examples of the proactive football workforce in Kent.”

The Kent Football Development Team also presented awards to Colin Boswell, Geoff Wickens, Cyril Windiate and Tony Crosswell for support and contribution to the Goalpost Safety Scheme in Kent.
