Unbeaten Kent march on

Kent maintained their one hundred percent record with a narrow win against London FA at Corinthians F.C.

With the pitch in fantastic condition both teams were allowed to play attacking football with Kent starting the stronger with attacks down the right providing them with their best opportunities for Callum Crutchfield and Steve Brading who combined well.

Kent continued to press and went close to opening the scoring when a good header from Chatham Town, centre back Michael Scott just went over the crossbar.

With Bromley’s, Harry Harding beginning to control the midfield with help from Perry Scofield-Lamoon and Charlie Sweetman, Kent dominated the first half and should have taken an half time lead playing with the advantage of the slope.

Following the half time interval Kent pushed on and in the 46 minute, Billy Holland chased down a ball which the London goalkeeper looked under control but in a rush of blood the home keeper pushed Holland in the back and the referee awarded kent a penalty. After a long delay Harry Harding converted the spot kick.

Following the goal London began to look for the equaliser and the visiting keeper, Jack Rankin produced two magnificent saves and help from Jack Sparrow and Michael Scott the two centre backs continued to frustrate London.

Left back, Crimmen gave his usual self assured display which brought confidence to the back four all afternoon and this allowed Kent to create further chances with Brading missing from a neat cross by Josh Hughes and Scofield-Lamoon also went close.

Karl Dent came off the bench and tighten up the Kent midfield however London had a goal chalked off for offside as a determined Kent side battled for a deserved and hard fought win.

Ken Brooke said "I would like to give a special thanks to Corinthians for putting on such a good pitch and for the officials and their handling of the game which once or twice was lively."

Brooke praised his team and went onto say "An excellent team performance whose attitude and application of how we wanted to play was first class. A very talented group of lads and a well deserved but hard fought victory."

Kent sits proudly at the top of the table with 9 points out of 9 and play AFA on Thursday evening at Broxbourne Borough F.C. looking to keep their record intact.
