The Kent County FA Under 18 Manager, Ken Brooke is preparing his new squad of players for the forthcoming season and is excited about the prospect of competing against other County FA’s in the Home Counties League.
The County FA recently wrote to senior clubs inviting them to nominate up to 4 players for a trials and following the success of the Under 16 Squad last season Brooke is looking forward to the new season ‘We are hoping to build on last seasons success with the Under 16's. Being in charge of both the under 16's and under 18's this season will mean that we can develop the County squads along side each other and try to continue to build the excellent team ethic that the under 16's had last season’.
The squads preparation commences with friendlies against the Kent Schools FA followed by the visit of the Essex FA and Brooke knows the importance of a good pre season ‘At this stage we are doing the hard work in organising both squads, and we will set our targets and objectives for the season once we have had the trials. The expectation levels are high and that is good. It would ideal to have a good run in the National County Youth Cup.
Kent begin the new campaign at home to Surrey on 5 October before traveling to Jersey for the FA Youth County Cup.
