Small games, big ideas

The impressive home of Dartford FC was the setting as the County FA’s most progressive clubs and coaches were invited to an FA Charter Standard Club in-service event.

21 coaches attended the event ,which was delivered by FA Regional Coach Development Manager Chris Whalley.

The theory and practical workshop demonstrated how small sided games can be adapted for all levels, ages and abilities.

Ian West of Sheerness East Youth FC, praised the evening by saying “I have attended a number of these events and I always pick up new ideas. Chris provided some great practical sessions which can be delivered to youth players and adapted for adults too”.

The in-service training events are one of many benefits that the County FA offers to new and existing FA Charter Standard Clubs, with clubs receiving Umbro discount, an FA Charter Standard plaque, the use of The FA Crest and continued coaching support.

Kent County FA Football Development Officer, Lee Suter went on to say “As a County FA we are committed to the continued personal development of the FA Charter Standard volunteer workforce, and it was pleasing to see so many coaches dedicated to the event.”
