All the league teams were presented with a yellow match ball from league sponsors Molten prior to the event kicking off. 5 adult teams took part in this round of the league and all the games were eagerly contested with teams battling it out to finish top of the league as we enter the New Year.
The weather seemed to give everyone an extra burst of energy and determination. Each team played four games and it was pleasing to see the FA Respect programme working with all the games played in a competitive but fair spirit.
There were also some fine individual performances on the day including Pat Penfold who pulled off a string of fantastic saves in goal for Invicta Valiants FC and Ian Bailey who was at the forefront of a series of good performances for St Margaret’s FC.
A big thank you to the referees on the day who braved the conditions to ensure all the games were played.
