It was a weekend of celebration for Kings Hill FC as players, coaches and volunteers came together at the clubs annual fun day to commemorate recent achievements including being awarded the FA Charter Standard Club Award.

The FA Charter Standard Club Award is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all

A delighted Club chairman, Martin Bilton said “This award displays the club's commitment to grassroots football in the area and it is pleasing to see that the hard work all at the club have put in has been rewarded with such a prestigious award”.

The club which was formed in 2003 runs teams from Under 6’s through to Under 15’s. The club has over 200 members as well as an executive committee and over 40 volunteers who work tirelessly to ensure the club progresses.

The Award was presented by Football Development Officer, Lee Suter and newly appointed Gillingham Manager, Andy Hessenthaler with Suter praising the club by saying “By showing people what a good club should look like the players, coaches and volunteers who drive the club have a clear focus in which to channel their endless energy and enthusiasm to ensure the club continues to develop’.

Displaying The FA’s Charter Standard Award gives the security that minimum requirements are in place and that the club has a commitment to player and coach development as well as raising the standards of behaviour across the game.

Suter went onto say “Club development is very important to the Kent County FA and as an Association we are committed to football development and will continue to work with clubs in order to achieve the FA Charter Standard Award”.
