Club Annual Health Check

11:15 AM, Thursday, 05 January 12. Club Development

In October 2011 all Kent FA Charter Standard Clubs were issued with their unique and pre-populated 2011/12 FA Charter Standard Annual Health Check.

Carrying out this process annually allows clubs to review and track the validity of their voluntary workforce in relation to coach education and welfare while identifying their workforce / coach education requirements in the future.

All FA Charter Standard Clubs (unless they received their accreditation after 1 July 2011) are required to complete and return their Health Check Form to the Kent FA by 31 March 2012. If they have not done so their FA Charter Standard accreditation may be suspended. Below is a detailed schedule of events and dates:

October 2011 – 31 March 2012
- Kent FA to issue Annual Health Check Form
- Club to complete form and return to Kent FA
- Club to plan to address any gaps in criteria & communicate this to Kent FA

31 March 2012
- If club has not contacted Kent FA their status will be suspended

30 June 2012
- If the club has not contacted Kent FA their status will expire

The main FA Charter Standard Club criteria requires each affiliated team to demonstrate a minimum Level 1 coach with a valid FA Emergency Aid certificate, FA Safeguarding Workshop certificate and accepted Enhanced FA CRB check while each senior team needs a qualified First Aider.

When reviewing the Form, Clubs should pay particular attention to the ‘Qualifications Record’ page in which Clubs will be required to confirm, complete and amend any details required with the above criteria in mind.

Clubs are not required to forward evidence and/or certificates when returning the Annual Health Check Form but providing us with Qualification details such as dates of achievement and certificate numbers will allow us to inform The FA and update individual records. This will avoid Clubs having to repeat the action the following year.

At the Kent FA we understand that managers and coaches leave Clubs and also that certificates expire which means that teams no longer meet the FA Charter Standard criteria. It is important that Clubs make me aware of your plans to rectify this so we can prevent the club award lapsing. Please note all newly appointed managers and/or coaches have 12 months to meet the award criteria.

Clubs can also make use of the ‘Members Services’ function by clicking here where you can amend Club Officials and following any updates and amendments as well as access to an up to date Annual Health Check Form.

Please do not hesitate to lee.suter@kentfa.com if you have any questions or require assistance in completing the process.
