The Kent FA Youth Council continue their fantastic SWEARING - Let's Tackle It campaign through a very busy league cup finals period.
‘SWEARING – Let’s Tackle It’ is the final product of months of work by the Kent FA Youth Council at the start of the New Year.Supported by members of Kent FA staff, the Youth Council collaborated with Fixers UK, a charity which supports young people across the UK to take action and change things for the better, to orchestrate a campaign tackling foul and abusive language in the game.
From initial concept development to the execution of filming a promotional video, the Kent FA Youth Council has directed the campaign to help eliminate and raise awareness of the negative impact of bad language in football.
The campaign video was exclusively launched on ITV Meridian news which you can watch here The Kent FA Youth Council’s video has been circulated to Kent clubs and leagues and gained further momentum and support from the local football community.
Over the past month the Kent FA Youth Council has been working closely with the Kent Youth League, Kent Girls and Ladies League and Kent County League and attended each league's finals to encourage their involvement with the Kent FA Youth Council’s work.
Youth Councillors begun their promotion at the Kent County League Final on Thursday 1st May at Chatham Town FC and followed this up by attending the Kent Girls and Ladies League Finals on Sunday 11th May. Their final trip to promote the campaign arrived at Corinthian FC for the Kent Youth League Final between Dartford FC and Horsham FC.
Kent FA Youth Councillors have already received great feedback to their campaign from across the county with several clubs and leagues seizing the initiative from the campaign to drive it forward and raise standards in the county.
Kent FA Football Development Officer, Lee Suter noted how the campaign is beginning to infiltrate an important message across the levels of the game : “Our award winning Youth Council have done really well to identify this issue and work to produce a good campaign. Not only have they worked with Fixers UK to produce a fantastic video, they're endeavoring to ensure the messages reaches those involved at grassroots and upwards. They're facilitating a great campaign which will hopefully gather even more support over the next couple of weeks as the season draws to a close."You can watch the Youth Council's video on the Kent FA YouTube channel by clicking here.
