Ben Bowles, Joe Kasper, Scott Rudd and Joe Stokes travelled to Portugal to represent Kent FA and enjoyed several benefits to their development as officials;

  • Initiating a sense of pride for Match Officials and Coaches, to represent their County FA at an International Tournament
  • Developing confidence, self-esteem and positivity
  • Developing an appreciation of the different styles in which the game is played across the world, as well as different cultural styles
  • Enhancing social and personal skills

This is the second year that Kent has now been represented at the Iber Cup and this year Kent FA were successful in gaining places for four young match officials.

Kent FA Referee Development Officer, Nick Dunn, travelled alongside the four officials with Referee Coach Paul Kelly and revealed the tournament had been a complete success.

“Without doubt, this has been one of the best experiences that being Referee Development Officer has given me. The work that all Kent representatives put into the tournament was amazing, and I could not have asked for anything more.”

“Kent FA is incredibly proud at the way you all those who attended conducted themselves; more importantly those who attended should be proud of their achievements.  I hope that this opportunity can be used to propel them into a great start to the 2014/2015 season.”
