MATCH PREVIEW: Kent Reliance U14 Girls Youth Cup 2017

This Sunday is a celebration of girl’s and women’s football in the county, as we hold our Kent Reliance Girls Youth Cup Finals and the Kent Reliance W

Our first match, the Kent Reliance U14 Girls Youth Cup Final, between Dartford FC and Thanet Colts FC kicks off at 10.30am at the Gallagher Stadium.

Dartford FC started their journey to today’s final with a first round visit away to Woodcombe Youth FC. This match saw the Dartford girls easily make it through to the quarter finals, thanks to a 7-1 victory!

Thanet Colt’s first round cup game started fast against Ashford Angels. They were quick to push the midfield deep into their own half, and sustained attack until a hard fought break in play saw Thanet Colts go 1-0 up against the run of play. The girls battled on through the match and came out 3-1 winners and into the Quarter Final!

For their Quarter Final, Dartford was away again, this time with a visit to Petts Wood Chicks. They made it through to their semi-final with a 3-1 win!

Thanet’s Quarter Final was a trip away to Tunbridge Wells Ladies. Thanet were on the attack from the start, and Tunbridge struggled to defend the constant attacking style from the girls. Thanet proved to strong and dangerous, and made it to the Semi-Finals with a 5-0 victory.

Finally, to secure their space in today’s final, Dartford had a trip away to Maidstone United. They got their finalist status, thanks to a great 4-1 win!

To make it to today’s Final, Thanet Colts last opponent was West Kent Girls! Worthy semi-finalists, they pushed Thanet to the limit through the match, but the girls’ resolve could not be broken. They pushed on at every opportunity and with both teams fighting on to the final whistle, Thanet Colts won 4-0.
