MATCH PREVIEW: Kent Reliance U16 Girls Youth Cup 2017

This Sunday is a celebration of girl’s and women’s football in the county, as we hold our Kent Reliance Girls Youth Cup Finals and the Kent Reliance W

Our second match of the day is the Kent Reliance U16 Girls Youth Cup Final, between Long Lane JFC and Margate Youth FC. Kick-off is at 1.30pm at the Gallagher Stadium.

Long Lane started their journey to today’s final with a trip away to Dartford FC, where they progressed through to the Quarter Final with a 7-3 win!

Margate Youth had the luck of the draw on their side, receiving a bye straight into the Quarter Finals of the competition.

For their next match, Long Lane had a trip down to the coast to play against Thanet Colts FC. This journey was certainly worth their journey, as they made it into the Semi-Finals with a strong 8-3 win!

Margate Youth has even more luck, and were ab le to skip straight into the Semi-Finals of the competition, as their scheduled opponents were unable to field a team against them.

Long Lane won their Finalist status with a home fixture against Anchorian Angels. They earnt this title with a very convincing 9-1 win against their opponents.

Eventually, Margate Youth were able to get a match in the competition, and were treated to an away trip against Tunbridge Wells Ladies. A 5-2 win flattered the coastal squad, as Tunbridge Wells were still in with a chance as it was 2-2 with 10 minutes to go. An unrivalled desire to reach the final by Margate, along with a superb work rate until the end saw the girls through to the final with 3 late goals thanks to a Nicole Adams hat-trick, and goals from Isabel Robinson and Grace Philip-James.
