Over £300K Funding Boost for Grassroots Football in Kent

An incredible sum delivered in funding for grassroots football in the county.

Clubs across Kent have welcomed further investment into the game, thanks to the Winter Survival Fund which was delivered by the Football Foundation.

Part of the Government's Sport Winter Survival Package, the Football Winter Survival Package is a fund that aimed to support clubs at Step 3 to 6 of the National League System that have been severely impacted by COVID-19 restrictions.

The objective of the grant was to ensure football clubs survive the winter period and minimise the long-term damage to participation, with 45 Kent FA-affiliated clubs benefiting from a total of £361,730 in grants being offered.

Lee Suter, Football Development Manager at Kent FA, said: “The investment from the Government, with the support of Sport England is needed more than ever clubs and this support will help contribute to a safe return to football for so many.”
