Referee Appointments

Kent FA welcome 100 match officials to the village hotel.

KENT FA WELCOMED 100 MATCH OFFICIALS TO THE VILLAGE HOTEL FOR A MATCH OFFICIAL CUP FINAL CELEBRRATION AT THE BEGINNING OF MARCH 2022.

The event saw all of the officials receive confirmation of the finals that they have been appointed to throughout the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign. In all, the appointments accounted for 25 of Kent FA’s County Cup Finals, including the highly anticipated Senior Cup and all the way down to Junior/Youth Finals.

The officials were also addressed by former Premier League & FIFA referee Steve Bennett. Referee Development Officer, Nick Dunn, was delighted to have welcomed so many match officials along:

“This event is important for us to ensure we recognise and reward a selected number of our match official workforce. The 100 appointed represent 6% of our overall number of affiliations (1,703), so selecting these places is always tough. Having had the past two seasons significantly impacted both on and off the field, it was great to bring everyone together and celebrate the appointments but to also catch up with colleagues who some may not have seen for some time. Importantly, and above all else, a sincere message of thanks to all match officials who continue to give up their time to support the grassroots game!”.
