Kent FA 2022-23 County Cup Round Up

Our message following the conclusion of the Kent FA 2022-23 County Cup Finals.

Another Kent County Cup Competitions season has concluded, and what an incredible season it has been. Across the 25 County Cup Finals, we were treated to fantastic matches and superb goals. Congratulations to all our competition finalists and all the winners.

Attendances were the highest we’ve recorded in the past ten years, with nearly 10,000 spectators passing through the turnstiles over the 25 finals. We had record attendances at both the DFDS Kent Senior Cup and Senior Trophy, whilst over half the Finals saw an increase in attendance from Season 2021/22.

This year, 1,198 teams entered a Kent Cup competition, from U13s to the Vets game, which increased by 9% from the previous season. In the youth competitions, 456 youth teams from U13s to U18 entered the cup competitions for the 2022/23 season, with a growth of 36% from last season. Across the girl’s game, 88 girls’ teams entered the competitions this year, up 137% from the 2021/22 season, which is an incredible achievement. The boy’s youth competitions also saw a growth in entries of 23% from last season. These Cup Competitions have promised to be the best yet, and we look forward to developing them even further next season.

A HUGE thank you goes out to our incredible County Cup Partners, The Merit Group, who sponsor our Youth Cup Competitions, and DFDS, sponsors of the Adult County Cup Competitions. Their passion for the game in Kent is incredible, and it has been wonderful to have their support and dedication throughout the season to help ensure these are the best Cup Finals yet. We look forward to working with them all once again next season.

We would also like to thank our host venues, Maidstone United, Gillingham FC, Sheppey United FC, and Whitstable Town FC, for their generous support. We are truly grateful and look forward to working with you all again for 2023/24. Our penultimate thank you is for all our wonderful Match Officials. Appointment to a Kent Cup Final is an incredible achievement and recognition for all your hard work across the season. Lastly, we thank all our Kent FA colleagues, Board, and Council members for your support with Cup Competitions this season. These events wouldn’t happen without such a dedicated and passionate team, and we are incredibly grateful for all you do for the game in Kent. Thank you.
