I think the only advice I would give to people thinking about volunteering, is go for it. Even if you feel a bit nervous or scared – l know I did on several occasions – fake it, until you make it! I’m a huge advocate of making the most of your spare time and volunteering serves that principle perfectly. It’s not something you even have to do alone, get some of your friends involved too and you can have a really good time.
