DFDS Kent Women’s Cup: Gillingham Women FC 6 Aylesford Ladies 0

Gillingham Women retained the DFDS Kent Women’s Cup with a 6-0 win over Aylesford Ladies at the Gallagher Stadium.

The Gills proved too strong in the end but knew they’d been in a game, with underdogs Aylesford holding their own in the first half before the tie got away.

Breon Grant broke the deadlock late in the first half as Gillingham finally breached their opponents’ determined defence. 

Grace Coombs doubled the holders’ lead midway through the second half as five goals in 19 minutes saw Dan Logue’s side pull clear.

Mary Bashford, Vicky Ashton-Jones (penalty), Grant’s second and Georgia Griffin completed the tally.
