Join us on our mission to keep Kent green by joining Kent Green United for the 2023/24 season.

Here at the Kent FA, we are profoundly aware of our duty to support the playing environments of our Kent clubs and the communities in which we all operate. With over 62,000 players enjoying the grassroots game in Kent, supported by thousands of volunteers, together, we have a big part to play in changing the way we do things, as well as using our voice to make a change.

Working together with our Kent clubs, we can help protect our local environments, unite communities, and make a positive impact on our planet. 

So, what is Kent Green United?

Kent Green United will become a collection of environmentally friendly clubs, that actively carry out simple, fun and regular activities within their communities to make a positive difference in their local environment. 

This could be through:

• Club & community litter picks around their local grounds
• Arranging regular boot/kit swap shops instead of buying brand new items which contribute to landfill
• Walking to training or matches to reduce carbon emissions;
• Or simply using a refillable water bottle reducing plastic waste. 

What’s in it for my Club?

By signing up to become a member of Kent Green United, you are making a positive commitment to your club, your community, your local environment, and climate change. In turn, this will unite your club with your community members and local businesses, helping to create a fantastic playing environment for your teams for now and in the future.  

TIP: Get Your Youth Players Involved By Creating A Green Squad.  These eco-warriors of today will help your club generate ideas and activities to support your green mission for tomorrow.

We are volunteers who are already time-poor. How much extra work does it mean?

That is completely up to your club. We recommend three activities across the season as a minimum and for all clubs that achieve this, they will be entered into a fabulous prize draw for the chance to win some goodies for their club.

How do we sign up?

A member of the team will then be in touch and send you the following supporting materials to get you on your way:

• Kent Green United logo – be proud and show your members you have joined the team to make a positive impact of your community using our team logo
• Kent Green United Ideas poster – simple, low-cost activities that will make a huge impact locally
• Editable promotional materials – this editable poster and social media frame allows you to add your club logo and details to promote Kent Green United to your members as well as your green activity i.e. This Saturday, Join Our Boot Swap At The Club House.  
• Key partner offers – would like a recycle bin at your clubhouse? Do you have old kit that you want to donate to third-world countries? We will put you in touch with our partners who can make that happen

You mentioned a prize draw, what are the prizes?

We have started Kent Green United because it’s the right thing to do for Kent. But to help our clubs, we have thrown in some end-of-season incentives that your club could be lucky enough to win. For your chance to win one of these prizes, share your activity with us on social media using the hashtag #KentGreenUnited. Once you have hit at least three activities across the year, we will place you into a prize draw for your chance to win one of these fabulous prizes in May 2024:

• Team training top for one team at your club
• Up to 14 tickets to a Kent County Cup Final of your choice
• 10x Nike footballs 
• 5X First Aid kits are up for grabs 
• One-year membership for up to 5 coaches at your club to join the Kent FA Coaches Club

All clubs that complete a minimum of three activities across the season will also be nominated for the Kent Green United Heroes Award category for the Kent FA Grassroots Awards 2024.
