The Merit U16 Girls Cup Final: Ebbsfleet United 2 London City Lionesses 7

Millie Rayner and Lottie Cunningham both scored twice as London City Lionesses overcame Ebbsfleet at Maidstone’s Gallagher Stadium.

Ebbsfleet had taken an early lead through Amelia Woodgate but London scored three goals in a six-minute spell to head into the break 3-1 ahead. Romilly Evans equalised and Rayner scored a clinical double.

Shaniya Sood’s long-range shot made it 4-1 before Ebbsfleet pulled one back through Woodgate’s neat finish after an excellent run from Tochi Davids.
The goal of the game came from Lois Shooter, a lovely left-foot curler into the top corner, just past the hour mark to give London a 5-2 lead. 

Ebbsfleet’s Ellie George had a goal ruled out for offside and London, prompted by player-of-the-match Macy Arnott in midfield, added two more goals late on through Cunningham to seal an impressive performance.
