DFDS Kent Sunday Junior Cup Final: Cliffe Woods Colts 3 Eastern Athletic 5 (AET)
The goals flowed as Eastern Athletic edged an entertaining DFDS Kent Sunday Junior Cup Final in extra-time against Cliffe Woods Colts at Maidstone.
Athletic took a second-minute lead through player-of-the-match Dan Rumbol’s brilliant 35-yard strike but were behind by half-time after Ozan Hassan scored twice for Cliffe Woods, rounding the keeper for his opener before scoring his second from the edge of the box.
It needed another fine strike, this time from Harry Hornsby, to level the scores midway through the second half.
Extra-time saw Eastern take a 4-2 lead through Tom Carlton’s free-kick and Ricky Hornsby’s header before a second Harry Hornsby goal put them in charge. It meant Ryan Sokolov’s late goal for Cliffe Woods was no more than a consolation.
