The Merit U16 Boys Youth Cup
Bromley beat Dover on penalties to win an exciting final at Ashford’s Homelands stadium.
Dover dominated the early chances and could have had the game wrapped up but had to wait until early in the second half to find the breakthrough.
The impressive Leighton Murray scored twice in the space of eight minutes to hand Dover a two-goal lead.
But it sparked Bromley into life and Michael Kamson-Karama converted a penalty that he’d won himself with a driving surge into the area.
Kassim Dagher levelled the scores on 66 minutes and the tie went from end-to-end with Dover hitting the woodwork in extra-time but no more goals were forthcoming.
Dover missed their first two penalties while Bromley converted their first three spot-kicks. Kamson-Karama stepped forward to win it for Bromley but his spot-kick was brilliantly saved.
Murray needed to score to keep Dover in it but he sent his spot-kick wide to see Bromley complete a 3-2 shoot-out win.
