Tournaments offer fantastic playing experiences for all participants in the game, but it is essential they are played in a safe and protected environment.
With this is mind it is important to remind clubs and referees of their responsibility to ensure they are taking part in Kent FA sanctioned tournaments. Without sanctioning the tournament may not fall under FA regulations and clubs and referees may have issues with areas such as personal accident insurance, public liability insurance and discipline.
For further advice and support on tournament rule structures please see the Tournament Rules Guidance document.

Providing Football Activity For Very Young Children
We have been advised that there is an increase in applications for youth football tournaments that include provision for U6’s. To repeat the regulation in FA Standard Code of Rules Youth (SCORY).
Download the FA Standard Code of Rules Youth
‘A child who has not attained the age of 6 shall not play, and shall not be permitted or encouraged to play, in a match of any kind’.
Please note Kent FA will not sanction competitions where clubs have requested for U6 teams to play in the same 5 v 5 Mini Soccer format as U7’ss. Please note if the format is 3v3 or 2v2 training games played on rotation with no results, no tables and no cups this would be appropriate, please see below:
U/6/5/4 Football - FA Regulations prohibit competitive football until U7s. However, it is legitimate to work with children who are u/4, u/5 and u/6 but the programmes offered to these groups needs to be age specific and not just a version of older age group provision. The focus needs therefore to be play and games rather than fixtures. This in turn requires a focus on the quality, suitability and specialism of coaches working with these younger age group.
Please note, Kent FA is not responsible for the running of the advertised tournaments. Only tournaments that wish to be advertised with Kent FA will be listed below. If you cannot see a tournament you are running or attending listed, please email Kent FA on email@example.com to find out more information on all sanctioned tournaments.
