CPD - Continued Professional Development in Kent

Learning and development is an active and continuous process, it’s a journey that never ends. CPD is the term used to describe the learning activities and experiences that professionals engage in to develop and enhance their abilities.

Kent FA understands the importance of providing opportunities for developing coaches to be the best they can be to support their players develop and enhance their skills. We are committed to promoting and delivering high-quality Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities, mentoring and insight throughout the 2023/24 season, inclusive of all coaches in Kent. Ranging from the Kent FA Coaches Club, Club Coach Mentor, Junior Coach Mentoring and Goalkeeper Coach Mentoring Programme to The England Football Learning platform, providing bespoke workshops and events for the Kent football community.

This event will aim to explore the fundamentals of and techniques to instilling a positive environment, the balance between managing/supporting a group and individuals, the effects of coach behaviours, standards and expectations on the management of a group and the importance that active, fun and engagement can have on the management of a group, through demonstration of practical session/activity ideas, led by David Webb.

KENT FA COACHES CLUB – CONFERENCE & END OF SEASON CELEBRATION

This event will be hosted by TalkSport presenter Kweku Afari, talking with our special guest panellists on supporting the next generation of players, creating a sustainable team environment and the journey through the beautiful game. The special guest panellists are set to be made up of both past and present coaches and managers, in Kent and across the country. The first set of guests to be announced are Gillingham FC Head Of Coaching, Ebun Thomas, QPR FC Head of Boys Academy, Manisha Tailor and Ebbsfleet United FC Manager, Danny Searle, with more special guests to be announced in due course. Please note there will also be a three course meal for all attendees.

POSITIVE FOOTBALL WORKSHOP

This workshop aims to provide ideas, discussion, and guidance into creating a positive football environment at your club, looking into managing and tackling challenging behaviour and understanding behaviour traits in both children and adults. This workshop is for coaches, parents and club officials who volunteer, support, spectate in mainstream and disability football, led by The Kent FA Safeguarding Team.

The England Football Learning platform offers some fantastic online courses that will provide coaches with accredited CPD hours to maintain qualifications without having to leave the house, including Creative Attacking Play and How Do You Approach Match Day?

 Below are some instructions of how to access the 20 insightful, informative and thought provoking CPD courses and modules:

1. To access any CPD module or to search for a specific topic, visit the link here to go to FA Learning

2. Once you have searched for a topic, click on the CPD module/course you want to complete.

3. This will take you to a login page where you will be asked to login with the email connected to your FAN and password.

4. Once signed in you will go to the CPD course/module landing page where you will be able to read more about the course/module and launch it by clicking enrol.
