#TeamKent Goes European!

We are delighted to announce that Kent Referee Kirsty Dowle, has been invited to attend the UEFA Referee CORE Development Programme.

The UEFA Centre of Refereeing Excellence (CORE) Development Programme aims to use high quality technical experts to support and prepare young promising referees and assistants from across Europe for the demands of international football. In addition to this, it also develops and enhances the skills of referees, assistant referees and fitness coaches.

Kirsty began refereeing in Kent in 2013; following this she began refereeing in youth football, before progressing to referee in men’s Sunday League football. In March 2016, Kirsty was promoted to a level 6 referee, and then the following season she was promoted straight to level 4. In 2015 Kirsty began refereeing in Women’s football; and then this season Kirsty joined the FA CORE programme for referee development.

On finding out she was to be joining the UEFA CORE programme, Kirsty was delighted: “I never expected an invitation into a group like this - it was always an aspirational dream. I can't wait for the experience; I’m looking forward to how much I'm going to learn. It's going to be a totally different set-up to what I'm currently used to”.

The Kent FA team are also pleased for Kirsty, with John Moules saying: “As Chair of the Referees Committee l am delighted for Kirsty Dowle who has been invited to attend UEFA Core Courses in 2018. Kent football is proud of its Match Officials achievements, and wish Kirsty every success in the future.”
