Bells FC Lift the Kent Sunday Junior Cup Silverware!

Bells FC 2 - 1 Ex Blues FC

This game turned out to be a close affair as both sides went for it but the game will be remembered for Finley Martin having to go to hospital after a challenge left him on the floor and the game was stopped for 20 minutes.

This was a little unfair on Bells as they deserved the victory although it was a hard victory and they have the double as they won the League last week and are going for the triple with another cup to go.

The first chance of the game came for the Ex Blues in the 2nd minute when Josh Tutt on the edge of the area skied his shot over the bar and then in the 10th minute Bells had theirs when Chizo Wosu on the back post controlled but his shot hit the side netting.

A minute later and Bells had taken the lead when Kyle Eastwood pushed the ball forward into the area for Caleb Tanner who from 10 yards shot past Colin Crampton.

Ex Blues started to get into the game and in the 13th minute a long throw into the area was flicked on by a defender forcing Crampton to save it at the second attempt.

In the 26th minute the ball forward found Sam Jones and his shot from 20 yards was saved. In the 29th Ex Blues equalised when a long ball forward flicked backwards by a defender saw James latch onto it and he shot past an onrushing Crampton.

The last piece of action came in the 45th minute when a free kick into the area was allowed to bounce enabling Mindaugus Jankevicus to try and chip the ball in but Jonathan Earl was able to tip it over the bar.

The second half started with Emanuel Oli in the 48th minute receiving the ball on the left and he cut in and from 20 yards his shot was saved.

A minute later Chizi Wosu put Oli in to the area but his shot was saved but came back to him and his shot was then adjudged to have been handled and a penalty was given, up stepped Oli and he shot into the bottom right hand corner but Earl guessed right and pushed it around the post, again would they rue this golden opportunity in a tight match.

In the 55th minute Ex Blues thought they had taken the lead when a free kick into the area floated into the net but the referee saw a foul on Crampton. In the 58th minute Martin went into a challenge and came off worse and was taken off the pitch and then after a few minutes it was decided it need medical attention and the Ambulance service was contacted, when it came the referee stopped the game to let the Paramedics do their job.

Twenty minutes later and the game started again and the question was which team would be affected by this. Four minutes later a free kick into the area found Daniel McShane and his header was punched away by Crampton and then in the next minute a Tutt free kick from 30 yards was tipped over the bar by Crampton.

Time was running out and Extra Time looked likely but in the 89th minute Bells scored when Eastwood 30 yards out ran wide left and his cross into the 6 yard box was met by Oli who headed in. I

n the 90th +1 minute Oli went from hero to Zero as he was sent off. The 4th official indicated 7 added on minutes and Ex Blues pushed forward in search for the equaliser but Bells held firm and held out.
