Let Us Know - Female Only Level 1!
It’s a new year and Kent FA and Eighth Wonder are delighted to announce some exciting news to start 2019 with a bang!
Teaming up, we are offering 18 aspiring female coaches the chance to do a heavily subsidised Level One course this summer!
The Level One Course is open to girls aged over 16 and will be hosted at Margate Football Club’s Hartsdown Park during the summer to coincide with the FIFA Women’s World Cup taking place in France.
The course will start on Sunday 9th June 2019 from 9am-5pm with enough time to watch the England Lionesses versus Scotland World Cup match which will be screened for participants after that day’s workshop.
The course dates for your diary are:
- 9th June 2019 (09.00-17.00)
- 16th June 2019 (09.00-17.00)
- 23rd June 2019 (09.00-17.00)
- 30th June 2019 (09.00-14.30)
- 7th July 2019 (09.00-12.30)
The course will be led by UEFA A License Coach, Kent FA Tutor and Gillingham FC Girls Regional Talent Centre Technical Director, Natalie Curtis.
Kent FA, Football Development Officer, Katie Whitmore said “At Kent FA, we are committed to doubling the female participation in football. This course is a great opportunity to create a network for women taking their first step onto their coaching and football pathway with the support from Kent FA. We are really excited for 2019's Eighth Wonder and cannot wait to meet the women who take part”
Eighth Wonder founder, Charlotte Richardson added “After two really successful Eighth Wonder events, this year we wanted to focus on providing support and provision to help young women on their way to pursuing an interest in football.”
“There has been a huge increase in the number of female coaches we see in the grass roots game but there is still a lot of work to do improving the pipeline into the professional game and paid roles.”
“We hope by offering this course as an introduction, we can inspire a group on their way whilst providing an outlet for them to support the girls’ game with exit routes into Wildcat Centres and teams across the county.”
Places on the Level One course will be given on a first come, first served basis.
