CCCU Receive National Futsal Award!
Canterbury Christ Church University have received recognition winning a National Futsal award.
Canterbury Christ Church University has achieved a National Award at this year’s BUCS Football & Futsal Conference for Outstanding Community Engagement.
The University has worked in Partnership to deliver a Futsal League for men and women from across the County. The league saw Kent FA and CCCU sports partnership and create a sustainable, fun playing environment.
Speaking to CCCU’s Sport Development Manager Aidan Ainsley, delighted with the achievement he said; “It’s a great achievement for the University and all those involved, we work hard to engage with the community and this great example of this.”
Kent FA are very pleased with the progress of League and has enjoyed supporting the efforts of the University, Aidan also added that; “The support from Kent FA and been fundamental in launching the league and attracting players to join. We have also received support from BUCS and being part of the FA’s Grassroots Hub programme has helped us achieve more Football and Futsal development.”
Kent FA’s very own development officer Jack Jacobs explained how the league has benefited the County’s strategy for Futsal this season “The Futsal league has been a great success this season; it has engaged over 200 players and attracts players from all over the County on Sunday nights. We can’t wait to support CCCU as they lead the way with Community engagement as a Grassroots Hub in Kent.”
The University plan to move up a tier in the Grassroots Hub programme which would be another exciting development for Football and Futsal in Kent. Financial support was kindly granted from the Kent FA Foundation which helped buy new goals and equipment for the sports centre.
