Kent FA and Sleeping Giant Media united to support grassroots volunteers
Over the past three months, Kent FA and Sleeping Giant Media, have supported over 60 grassroots volunteers with their websites and social media platforms.
Since August, the Kent FA and Sleeping Giant Media have delivered three virtual workshops covering key areas; how to create a digital strategy, social media and website wow factors, all of which relate to the clubs and leagues digital platforms. These workshops aimed to support, inform and provide handy tips to the volunteers who manage a club’s website or social media.
Sarah M’Grady from Larkfield FC, who attended all three workshops says, “The social media and website ideas and advice we received from Amber at Sleeping Giant Media have proven helpful and we cannot wait to implement them going forward. Plus knowing, there is follow up support should we need it, is reassuring.”
Amber Vellacott from Sleeping Giant Media drove all three sessions and commented “We've had a fantastic time meeting different volunteers from clubs and leagues across Kent, helping share new digital skills, or boost confidence in existing ones. We've enjoyed seeing the passion these individuals have in their own time to help grow their clubs and can already see some of our advice being actioned across websites and social media. We are proud to support Kent organisations like these, and to help future-proof grassroots football, making it accessible online by all."
Kent FA CEO, Darryl Haden, said: “We are thrilled by the positive feedback we have received from the volunteers who attended these workshops. Sleeping Giant Media are experts in this area, and we are so grateful that they have delivered such engaging and helpful sessions. We look forward to growing this partnership.”
