Kent Business Community Unites Through Football

Last Thursday, ten businesses from across Kent competed in Kent FA’s first Business Sixes Cup hosted at K Sports.

The event aimed to wave goodbye to traditional team-building and create a fun environment where businesses could develop their team morale and build their business relationships.

Our partners, Sleeping Giant Media, The Merit Group and DFDS were joined by Modus, Cheriton Balti, University of Kent, MACO Door & Window Hardware, BAE Systems and our own Kent FA Staff team. It was a very hot afternoon, but that didn’t stop 78 players from lacing up their boots and joining in the fun.

The teams were split into two groups, with the winners from each group going into the final. The matches were played in a good spirit, with Cheriton Balti and DFDS topping their respective groups and meeting in the final. A solitary goal was enough to see Cheriton Balti crowned our first Business Sixes Cup winners.

Billy Radford, University of Kent, commented: “At the University, we hold a weekly social staff football session. The Kent FA Business Sixes was the perfect opportunity to provide those staff members with a competitive outlet in a relaxed setting whilst networking with university colleagues and businesses across Kent. The team loved the competition and are eagerly awaiting the date of the next one! Thank you to the Kent FA for organising.”

Thank you to all the teams who took part. You will be pleased to hear that we are already planning the next one, so watch this space.
