DFDS Kent Veterans' Cup Final this Friday

We hear how the managers feel ahead of this Friday's Final.

It's week six of the Kent County Cup Finals, and this Friday, we welcome Herne Bay Vets and Glebe FC to the Gallagher Stadium to see who will take this prestigious trophy.

Mark Kidd, Head of Veterans Football at Herne Bay FC, said: "This season, we were fortunate to benefit from the excellent new facilities that Herne Bay Football Club built last summer, which has helped us retain and attract players. At the start of this season, we signed Lewis Craddock in goal, Steve O'Brien in midfield, and Louis Brister up front – all of whom gave us a boost in quality and strength in depth that we didn't have last season, and have helped us out massively in some of the very difficult ties we had in the cup this year. Back to today's game, we are looking forward to a well-contested game with a Glebe side we know is very good, having knocked out our other team, Herne Bay Over 35s, in the quarter-finals."

Chris Head, Glebe's Head Coach, added: "This is the second year in existence for Glebe Vets this year, having had a successful first year winning the League Cup and finishing second in Division 1. Many injuries to star players this year have hampered the season somewhat in the league, but the cups have been where the magic has happened, reaching this final, as well as making the semi-final in our defence of the League Cup. This is a very talented squad who, on their day, and when everyone turns up, can be a match for any team."
