Representative Football

Kent Representative Football

Representative Football is an integral part of Kent FA's remit, and it is an honour to be selected for the county side. Kent FA offers opportunities for players to represent their county and compete against other counties and professional clubs.

Kent FA has enjoyed numerous successes at regional and national levels throughout history.

Representative football is a great chance to showcase your talent, with Football League scouts regularly attending our matches. Recent player success stories include Sam McCallum, who is currently under contract with Norwich City in the Sky Bet Championship; Gerald Sithole was recently signed with Gillingham and is contracted to Bolton Wanderers; whilst his younger brother Ronald has just signed his first professional contract committing to Gillingham for the current season; Hamid Ishola had been signed with Peterborough United whilst Ross Johnstone was selected to represent the England Schools FA.

Under 16s

The U16s have won the South East Counties Championship four times in the last ten years. They have also won the competition six times since it began in 1972. Our most recent success was in Season 2019/20, which saw our U16s finish as Group Winners, but the Covid-19 pandemic denied them the opportunity to play the final.

The U16 Boys Competition is not running for the 2023/24 season, but work is underway to see this competition resuming for season 2024/25.

Under 18s

The U18s have won the same competition five times in the last 11 years and are the second most successful county in this competition, winning it 11 times since its inception in 1952. The U18s also play in the FA County Youth Cup, which they last won in 2010 against Sheffield & Hallamshire FA at Priestfield, home of Gillingham Football Club. Season 2021/22 saw our U18s top their group and retain the Tony Elsey U18 Cup.

The U18 Boys Competition is not running in 2023/24, but work is underway to see this competition resuming for season 2024/25.

The Women compete in the Southern Counties Championship, which they joined in 2012 and have won the competition twice. Before the competition's demise, they also became the last East Anglian Counties league winners in 2017. Most recently, they won the Southern Counties Championship in 2017/18, winning all four matches in their League to secure the trophy.

For the 2023/24 season, the women's team will compete against Middlesex FA, Essex FA, Jersey FA, and the Army FA in the Southern Counties Competition.
