FREE BAE KICKABOUTS FOR 15-18-YEAR-OLDS

In October 2022, we trialled a ten-week programme in Medway. The programme was aimed at 16–18-year-olds who loved to play football but didn’t have the financial or time capacity to commit to a club. Therefore, working with our Community Investment Partner, BAE Systems, and award-winning Medway grassroots football club, Anchorians FC, we developed a unique new programme, especially for this age group.

One player from the trial period said, “I have really enjoyed everything I have done in the sessions: dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, and I particularly enjoyed practising shooting, as I got to practice scoring lots of goals. When the sessions come back next year, I will definitely participate in them again.”

The programme was such a success that we proudly announce that it is back for 2023.

By providing these sessions free of charge, we are removing barriers to play whilst helping these young people to learn new skills, make new friends, and enjoy the beautiful game in a safe and inclusive environment.
