COVID-19 Support and Guidance

Following the Government’s advice to suspend all forms of football as a result of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Kent FA has been dedicated to providing as much support and guidance to our member clubs, leagues, officials, volunteers, players and supporters as possible.

Whilst it’s not going to be possible to answer all of your questions, such is the ever-changing nature of this unprecedented situation, we have aimed to collate useful information and guidance, which is available at the links below.

Please also check back, as we’ll be adding information as and when it becomes available.

We hope you stay active and healthy during this time.

At this moment in time, there will be no change to discipline, no fines reimbursed and no suspensions voided.

It will be the league’s decision IF promotions and relegations occur. The leagues have two options available:

1) Competitions are brought to an immediate end with results expunged (i.e. without promotion or relegation occurring).

2) League positions and promotions and relegation are resolved by a points per game calculation.

The FA and County FA's are advising that the first option is the best course of action, but it is down to individual leagues to make that decision.

There is greater flexibility around cup competitions.

You may simply cancel the competition, consider trophy sharing (if finalists were already determined), or delay the finals to a 'season opener' for the 2020-21 season.

The choice to award any mementos is by the league itself.

We are hoping that Kent FA's County Cup finals will be held at a later date.

We have currently postponed all remaining finals.

The suspension will still be in place in to the new season.

We are regularly updating the Kent FA website with information directly related to the impact of COVID-19. We have collated information which aims to help clubs and facilities who are facing a loss of income following the suspension of grassroots football. Please click here to read more.

We hope so…but this will be determined by the Government.

They will work with The FA and other sporting bodies to make this decision. We will promote start dates when we know them.

This will be decided by The FA on advice from the Government. As it stands, there is still a suspension on all grassroots football, including training.
