Cup Final Match Summary: Rising Stars 1-4 Langton Green

Brianna Raymond and Poppy Williams both scored twice as Langton Green proved too strong for Rising Stars at a windy Gallagher Stadium.

Player-of-the-match Raymond’s excellent through ball set up Williams for a ninth-minute opener and she then doubled the advantage three minutes later after Isla Davy’s assist.

Rising Stars showed plenty of spirit and clawed a goal back on 26 minutes when captain Lucy Stringer’s free-kick deceived keeper Sophia Howes in the wind and Amelie Fielding was on hand to score.

But Green were not to be denied and restored their two-goal advantage before half-time when Williams turned in a dangerous Jess Baugh corner.

Raymond added a fourth in the second half and it could have been more but for a couple of fine stops from keeper Isla Sidders.
