A brilliant defensive rearguard performance from Foots Cray Lions was finally broken in the second half by Cray Wanderers.

Lions took an early lead when Freya Jackson brilliantly fired home from inside the penalty area.

They then defended in numbers and with plenty of determination to frustrate a normally free-flowing Wanderers side who dominated for long periods.

Player-of-the-match Chloe Garner led Lions in defence and they got through to half-time with their lead intact. The excellent Chloe Boys equalised early in the second half and then hit the bar.

Striker Chidimma Nwokedi had been kept quiet until she found space on 56 minutes as Wanderers broke with speed and she clinically finished into the far corner for what proved to be the winner.
