Kent FA is represented by Under 16's, Under 18's and Ladies teams
Representative Football is an important part of Kent FA’s remit and it is an honour to be called up to the county side. Kent FA offer opportunities for players to represent their county and compete against other counties and professional clubs.
Kent FA has enjoyed numerous successes throughout our history both at regional and national level. The U16’s have won the South East Counties Championship 4 times in the last 9 years and ahead of this year’s campaign. They have also won the competition a total of 6 times in the competitions history which began in 1972. Season 2018-19 saw our U16’s finish as Runners-Up in their Division winning four of their five matches.
The U18’s won the same competition 4 times in the last 10 years, and are the second most successful county in this competition, winning it 10 times since its inception in 1952. The U18’s also play in the FA County Youth Cup, which they last won in 2010 against Sheffield & Hallamshire FA at Priestfield, home of Gillingham Football Club. Last season our U18’s topped their group and went on to beat Hertfordshire 3-0 in the Final to win the Tony Elsey U18 Cup.
The Ladies compete in the Southern Counties Championship which they joined in 2012 and have won the competition twice. They also became the last winners of the East Anglian Counties league in 2017 before the demise of the competition and most recently won the Southern Counties Championship in 2017-18 winning all four matches in their League to secure the trophy.
Representative football is a great chance to showcase your talent with Football League scouts regularly attending our matches, recent player success stories include Sam McCallum who is currently playing for Coventry City in the Sky Bet League One whilst Ross Johnstone was selected to represent the England Schools FA last season.
Our U16 & U18 Teams are managed by Ian Varley and Lee Suter whilst our Ladies Team is managed by Richard Gurney, season 2019-20 sees us play all our Home matches at Chatham Town on their new 3G pitch.
