The new Strategy, through our Kent FA Centre of Refereeing Excellence (CORE), aims to deliver a full and comprehensive development platform, ensuring support is provided to all match officials from Level 9 through to Level 4. Furthermore, running parallel to this, our Referee Development Workforce shall also receive a greater level of support, thus ensuring all elements of referee development progress simultaneously.
Over the last few years, a great focus has been given towards those match officials who are keen to progress into the semi-professional level of the game and beyond. Whilst this concentration has proven extremely beneficial to both the Kent FA and our match officials, we are now in a position to provide greater levels of support to all of our match officials.
Through the Kent FA CORE programme, we can continue to help develop those with potential, recognising the ambitious, but also support those at the grassroots level of the game through a tiered system. Retaining the enthusiasm, commitment and energy of our County level match officials is paramount; if a referee simply wants to become the best Level 7, Level 6 or Level 5 referee that they can be, and only officiate at the local level of the game, then that is just as important as those wishing to progress. Kent FA CORE is open to any referee, regardless of any of the protected characteristics, as there is a tier in the Kent FA CORE for all.
We are confident that this strategy will demonstrate a commitment to improving the perception of the Kent FA as an effective and professional organisation, for the greater good of grassroots football in the county.
