Kent FA is looking for an enthusiastic Designated Safeguarding Officer with a child-centred approach and a passion for grassroots football to join the team.

Location: Kent FA HQ, Invicta House, Cobdown Park, London Road. Aylesford. Kent. ME20 6DQ

Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum

Hours per week: 35 hours per week

Safeguarding

Kent FA is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through The FA DBS process. The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according the nature of the role and the information provided.

The Role

Kent FA is looking for an enthusiastic Designated Safeguarding Officer with a child-centred approach and a passion for grassroots football to join the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation and delivery of safeguarding within Kent FA, implementing and maintaining The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard and providing support to key volunteers to embed safeguarding across the game in Kent.  

Key Accountabilities

Operationally lead the implementation and delivery of safeguarding within the Kent FA, being accountable for relevant areas of The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs.
Track and ensure ongoing compliance with The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs measures, policies and procedures.   
Support the Senior Management Team and take a dynamic and strategic approach to safeguarding delivery within the Kent FA, raising awareness and providing organisational support and direction to colleagues.
To significantly contribute to implementing and maintaining The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs and driving safer practice in grassroots football.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will have a recognised safeguarding qualification, ideally at Level 3, or have 2 years’ safeguarding, child protection or welfare industry experience.  They will be able to think and work strategically, be self-motivated and have excellent leadership skills. In addition, they will be able to forge and build excellent relationships with partner organisations and have a strong customer service ethos.
