DFDS win the Kent FA Business Sixes Cup

The Kent FA Business Sixes Cup is designed to help businesses develop their team morale and network through football.

Last Friday, the Kent FA held the second Business Sixes Cup of the season at Three Hills Sports Park, Folkestone. Ten teams of businesses from across the county, including Kent FA partners, competed for their chance to take home the silverware.

This fun-filled event waves goodbye to traditional team building and creates a fun environment where businesses can develop their team morale and build their business relationships.

We were joined by our partners Sleeping Giant Media, The Merit Group, BAE Systems and DFDS, as well as Kent businesses NFU Mutual (Canterbury and Sittingbourne), AC London, GEO Brand and our very own Kent FA Staff team.

The teams were split into two groups of five teams. In a change from the previous tournament, we introduced semi-finals, meaning the top two from each group advanced. In Group B, DFDS Logistics and Kent FA reached the semi-finals, while in Group A, it was defending champions Cheriton Balti and DFDS Seaways that made it to the last four.

The semi-finals saw an all DFDS tie, with DFDS Seaways coming out on top after winning on penalties. They then faced Cheriton Balti in the final after the holders defeated Kent FA - setting up a repeat of the final we had back in July in our first tournament.

This time it was DFDS that came out on top, winning 1-0 to claim the cup.

It was a brilliant afternoon, and we would like to thank all the participating teams for making it such a great event.

You will be pleased to hear that we are already planning another tournament for June/July 2023, so watch this space!
